Our bed and breakfast is located in the village of Slad, immortalised by the famous author Laurie Lee in his best selling book, Cider with Rosie. Guests who are familiar with the much loved novel can while away a pleasant afternoon exploring the village, discovering the “Big house”, home to the local Squire, and the pond where Miss Flynn drowned.

Stroud, three miles away, has a mainline railway station to London Paddington. We are happy to collect guests from the station by prior arrangement. The M4 is 40 minutes away at junction 15 (Swindon), and the M5 junction 13 (Stroud) or junction 11a (Cirencester) are both within 25 minutes drive. National Express stops in Stroud.
Rose Cottage is in Slad, on the B4070 between Stroud and Birdlip. As you drive along the B4070 you will see the war memorial at the north end of the village. Turn down the lane which is next to the war memorial (it is quite a sharp turn). Drive down the hill for about 150 metres, where you will find Rose Cottage on your left.
